I have known Bryan Janzen for 15+ years and in that time have known him to be one of the most hard working people I have ever met. His drive to create the best martial art by constantly improving his own knowledge of the art and of child development is inspiring. Children just love Mr. Janzen - he leads by example in the traditional martial art sense, while also being down to earth and playful with the children. He pushes the students to their limits, both mentally and physically. I cannot say enough good things about how I have seen Excel Martial Arts improve the lives of children, teens and adults, and Mr. Janzen thrives on being involved with his students journey every step of the way.

Mr. Janzen was my first martial arts instructor when I was a kid, and his teaching had a positive impact on my life.
I went from being a shy, and unconfident kid to growing into a more confident individual and eventually becoming an Instructor, Also I had the honour of helping co-found EMA.
I firmly believe in the positive impact martial arts can have on anyone, but as a child martial arts training helped provide me with a positive outlet to push myself and helped form me to who I am today. Martial arts training teaches more then martial arts, it teaches life skills to help form people into a better version of themselves.
Definitely recommend signing up with Mr. Bryan Janzen and his team at EMA Edmonton.

I trained with Mr. Bryan Janzen for five years at his Coquitlam location. I would travel from North Vancouver to Coquitlam to train at his school. The reason why I did this is because Mr. Janzen has a unique ability to make people feel heard and important. An absolute 5 stars for experience and level of instruction. Bryan is incredible with children and great with adults. I’ll absolutely recommend his school to properly train and take care of your kids in his class.
